 TRANSFORMERS: CAR ROBOT
Team Shinkansen (C-012/C-013/C-014)

JRX (C-015)

C-015 JRX

The JRX joins all three Trainbots (J-Five, J-Seven, and J-Four) into one "combiner" set that is slightly cheaper than purchasing all three separately.  The only fallback to this is the missing spec trading cards.   If you’re into collecting all cards you have to purchase all Trainbots including JRX.

When you open the packaging you’ll notice that each figure is partially transformed into three sections; upper body (J-Five), midsection (J-Seven), and lower body (J-Four). The various weapons are also separated.  I'll describe how to transform JRX from each of the three Trainbots in Robot Mode.

UPPER BODY TRANSFORMATION:  To transform J-Five into the upper body of JRX, return the head and arms into their original (tucked) position so that the torso (trains canopy) is pushed upward revealing the head of JRX.  Rotate the nose flaps upward then close the nosepiece together without tucking the canopy/JRX’s head into place.  Close the hip guards then separate the legs at the pelvic joint and "fold" the joints that meet the nose piece into place (shape of the letter "Z").  You’ve now created the shoulders and torso for JRX.  Drop the lower legs down which now forms the elbows and forearms.  At the end of the robots feet are JRX’s hands that need to be pulled out and thumbs extended.  Fold the "toes" down and the "heels" up, then rotate the forearms 90 degrees into position. This completes the upper body of JRX.

MIDSECTION TRANSFORMATION:  Return the robots head back into its original position by tilting the torso downward, rotating the head 180 degrees, and flipping the fists to the rear 90 degrees.  Next thing to do is rotate the nose/midsection upward so it appears that the robot is missing its "guts".   Tuck the toes and heels down and up respectively. Now back to the upper section.   Take the arms & joining flaps downward so that you can extend the nosepiece/midsection outward and rotating it 180 degrees.  Return the arms & joining flaps in their upward position then rotate the arms at the shoulder 90 degrees downward (toward the robots’ legs).  Now fold down the legs that are jointed at the midsection and separate them so that the robot (what’s left of it) appears to be doing the "splits".  Last thing is to rotate the legs at the knee joins downward.  J-Seven should now transformed into the midsection/jet pack of JRX.

LOWER BODY TRANSFORMATION:   J-Four has the least number of moves to create the lower body of JRX.  First thing it to tuck the arms back into its original position under the shoulder guards. F old the shoulder guards downward, which now act as "hip" guards for JRX.  Tuck the head back into its original position and flip the pelvic guard upward.  You should now have a headless robot.  This completes all transformations prior to creating JRX!

The connections for the three sections of JRX are two jointing prongs with the addition of a peg for added support in the midsection.  Take the upper section and slide it into the midsection while ensuring the two prongs located under the nosepiece are seated correctly.  Now connect the midsection to the lower body using the same technique minus the sliding part.  The last thing is to ensure the port from the midsection is connected to the lower body.

I'm sure I've gone a wee-bit overboard with the transformation directions but I'm excited about this robot!  JRX is a nice piece of work combining all three Trainbot into one mecha robot and gets a definite "thumbs-up" from me!
