 TRANSFORMERS: CAR ROBOT

WRECKERHOOK (C-017)

C-017 WreckerHook

VEHICLE MODE:  WreckerHook (C-017) is a reproduced mold of Hoist/Hubcap also released in the Machine Wars line in 1996-97.   WreckerHook appears to be a heavy-duty Tow Truck with a turquoise and lime-green color scheme.  Some parts are painted chrome/silver such as the trucks grille, rims, fuel tanks, exhaust stacks, air horns and roof lights.  The emergency lights on the roof as well as the windows are clear orange with the tail-hook and wheels being black, of course.  WreckerHook is also 4 ½" in length and has orange/purple pin stripe design with dark-orange lettering clearly visible on both sides of the truck.  The labeling & its location is identified below:

Hood: (autobot symbol)

Left/Right-side: "Towing Service"

ROBOT MODE:  To transform Wrecker into robot mode, place your index & middle fingers on the trucks tailgate (green protruding pieces) and thumb underneath the hook and lift upward.  The front end of the truck should "flip" down transforming into the robots torso.  If you performed the previous step correctly, Wrecker should’ve "popped" out of your hands and into robot mode!  The robots head, legs, and arms are now apparent (sound familiar?).  You may have to push the side panels in towards the body since the "flipping" mechanism doesn’t put all of the parts into place.  Next step is to separate and adjust the legs at the peg-in-hole connector.

The grille is attached to the truck by two pegs that can be removed to reveal WreckerHook’s pistol.  Spencer identified a better way to maintain a "complete" appearance by separating the grille from the pistol and re-attaching the grille to the truck.

In robot mode, you can see more of the turquoise blue on his legs and arms and black fists.  The autobot symbol is more visible on WreckerHook than on IndyHeat due to the background color, in this case lime-green.  His helmet is mostly lime-green with turquoise painted on his forehead and chrome painted "mouth guard".  The "back-lit" gimmick gives the appearance of illuminated (amber) eyes (make that eye since it’s cycloptic-looking) when placed near a light source.  To transform WreckerHook back to his vehicle mode, just reverse the steps above!

Overall, both figures are decently articulated, have cool color schemes/gimmicks, excellent transformations, and roll along any surface with ease!   Definitely worth your money in my opinion!
