  DIACLONE MAGNUS (C-69)

Well, I finally broke down and coughed up some more bucks for this exclusive through BigBadToyStore.   This exclusive Transformer is called the "Movie Preview Edition" Ultra Magnus or Diaclone Ultra Magnus as some have called it.  It almost has the same color scheme as Powered Convoy from the Diaclone line  in 1984.  It was released on 26 February, 2001 at Toy Festival and supposedly limited to 1500 pieces.

Detailed descriptions of the Ultra Magnus figure can be found at my "TF2000" main page so I won't repeat much here but rather display photos.

The package hasn't changed from the re-issued Ultra Magnus but there are a couple of stickers applied to the box which is different.  The first thing you'll notice is the Gold sticker on the front as well as another Black label on the back (lower right-hand corner of box) identifying the toy as a limited edition.   Here's a pic of the Black label.

The box measures approximately 13.25"x5"x6" with the following items enclosed:

         1.  Carrier
         2.  Truck
         3.  Chest protector
         4.  2 Connectors (Truck/Waist)
         5.  2 Large Fists
         6.  2 Small Fists
         7.  4 Missiles
         8.  2 Missile Launchers
         9.  Super Blaster Gun
       10.  Ultra Magnus Head
       11.  Sticker Sheet
       12.  Instruction Sheet
       13.  Character Card

10-wheeled Car Carrier vehicle

As with many other exclusives that I own, I decided not to apply the stickers to Ultra Magnus since he looks fine as is.  There were a few stickers that were pre-applied which are the Autobot stickers on trailer, ramp, tail/brake lights, and of course the cab's trim.

Once I started collecting the exclusives I just couldn't stop.  It didn't matter that I was leaving Japan and that I'd have to pay a bit more for them.  So I continued to make my purchases through BBTS ... and I'm glad I did.  This version of Ultra Magnus is definitely my favorite of the 3 that I have.   Make that 4 if you count the original (incomplete) Hasbro Ultra Magnus that I have.   It's seen some battle but hopefully I can get my hands on some parts to rebuild him :P
